Is Your Website Fit for Purpose?

I play in a band. We play swing music and we are really quite good. Last night we played at a golf club near Aberdeen, Scotland. We delivered two and half hours of great swing music. We played it well, sang it well and the volume was perfect. All in all we couldn't have done much better.

The thing is, despite delivering a great product we bombed. It was dreadful and I couldn't get out of the place fast enough. The person booking us hadn't really thought things through and the people we were entertaining with our swing music just wanted to boogie and have a few drinks. It simply wasn't what they were looking for.

Have you ever taken a long hard critical look at your website to make sure you are delivering what your potential customers need? Have you ever carried out extensive keyword research to make sure your website is using the words and phrases your potential customers are searching for? If not your website is little more than the web equivalent of our bad gig and your business is missing a trick.

Make sure your website is giving your market what it needs.
