Site speed (sometimes called page speed or website performance) is a measure of how quickly your website can load content - and make it available for user interaction.
Recently, we received an invitation to tender (ITT) to build a website, along with some search engine optimisation. The document we received was both prescriptive and naive, and the resulting site will, almost certainly, not be what the company needs. As a digital marketing agency we receive a lot of these documents, and unfortunately they all follow a similar and lamentable pattern.
This is an actual traffic graph of a real website that supports a real business, that employs real people. Can you tell when their new website went live? Yup, but why did this happen? Unfortunately for these guys, they have yet to recover from this Brexit style cliff edge but it was so easy to avoid it.
